Jake Porter is a business and non-profit manager with over five years experience in both the sectors of retail and political consulting. Porter has served on non-profit boards, managed several political campaigns, and has retail management experience running multi-million dollar department stores.
In addition to managing political campaigns, Porter ran for Iowa statewide office in 2010 as a candidate for Iowa Secretary of State earning the second highest vote total in the history of the Libertarian Party of Iowa.
From 2008-2010, Porter served as an Alternate Representative to Region 6 for the Libertarian National Committee. Porter also served as Iowa Coordinator for Congressman Bob Barr’s Presidential campaign and a few years later served briefly as the interim Iowa Coordinator for former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson’s Presidential campaign.
In 2013-2014, Jake worked with the State of Iowa to fix a major voter registration issue impacting possibly thousands of Iowans.
Today, Porter resides in Council Bluffs, Iowa and works for a large Internet corporation in Omaha, Nebraska handling customer care. Porter spends much of his free time traveling across Iowa and fishing.
